Boca Bop Triathlon November 2nd 2008
This one was the last triathlon of the season for Dr. Fava, she again did very well, taking another full minute
off her 5k time, making her 3 1/2 minutes faster then the first race this season!!!
Sarasota Sharks Tri October 5th 2008
The doctors of Chiropractic Sports Medicine were responsible for the medical coverage at the 25th annual
Sarasota Sharks Triathlon/Duathlon held in sunny Siesta Key, Florida. This event was held on the world renowned Siesta Key
Beach which has soft white sand and turquosie blue water! A 1000m swim, 14 mile bike and a 5K beach run was the venue for the triathletes
and the duathletes competed in a 2 mile run, 14 mile bike and the same 5K beach run~!! Dr. Fava not only treated athletes before and after the race but
competed and placed 2nd in her Age Group.
Venice Triathlon August 2008
Once again Dr. Fava has returned to the sport she has loved since 1984. She completed in her 20th triathlon
this year. She place 2nd in her Age Group! Congratulations. Come Cheer her on in her next race Oct 5th in the Sharks Tri on

National Junior College Softball National Championships May 2008
Once again Drs. Fava and Gambina were in Plant City Florida at the International Softball Federation
World Headquarters for the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series Championships in May 2008.
The tournament’s 16-team consisted of teams traveling from Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois,
Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Wallace-Hanceville Community College from
Northern Alabama defeated Florida’s own Santa Fe Community College 5- 2.
Rails to Trails 5K May 2007
Dr. Fava was the medical coordinator of the Rails to Trials 5K and Fun Run in Sarasota Florida.
This was a small 5K to open up a new trail in Sarasota County Florida. This new trail connects many parks and
trails in Sarasota County utilizing the old train rails.
National Junior College Softball National Championships May 2007
Here we go again, Drs. Gambina and Fava were the doctors in charge
of the care of athletes participating in the NJCAA National Championships Series in Plant City Florida.
The 16-team field traveled from all over the country and this year top-seeded Chipola was crowned NJCAA national
champion after a second match up against eighth-seeded North Idaho, in a 6-3 victory.
Suncoast Cycling Classic 2006
This awesome event was full of incredible speed and power through hairpin turns and narrow straight aways.
These athletes pushed themselves through one of the most greuling courses in the State of Florida. We had 2 full days of fun
under the Venice sun with the Gulf of Mexico less then a mile from where we were stationed.

Drs. Gambina and Fava May 16-20, 2006 in Plant City Florida at the National Junior College Softball Championship Series.
The 13 teams hailed from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
Fourth-seeded Pima Community College (Tucson, AZ) edged #3 Gulf Coast Community College (Panama City, FL), 3-2, in the title game this afternoon
at the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Division I women’s (fast pitch) softball national championship
ISF Slow Pitch World Cup October 8-10, 2005
Once again we provided care at the International Softball Federation Slow Pitch Wolrd Cup in Plant City, Florida. The team from Scotland prevailed as 2005 World Champions.
They came up from the losers brackett to beat the USA team in 2 games for the title! Teams came from Ireland, Great Britain,
Cayman Island, Bahamas, Scotland and USA. In all there were 11 teams competing for the title of World Champion!
Suncoast Sundown Criterium May 14 - 15, 2005
Once again we were in sunny little Venice for the speed of cycling. This year the event was
a 2 day event with a criterium on Saturday and a Road Race on Sunday. Saturday saw a great deal of injuries
during the tight turns and high speed of a short track through the streets of downtown Main Street. Sunday was
almost injury free while racers of all ages competed in long course racing.
World University Games October 26-31, 2004
While many of our members were in Plantation a few of us were up in PLant City,
Florida at the 1st World University Games Softball Championships. This was the post Olympic competition between University
athletes. Many of the athletes represented their respected nations at the 2004 Olympics Games in Athens.
Rising Star Softball Showcase October 29-31, 2004
We are fortunate that each fall for this particular event New York Chiropractic
College sends us Dr. Sherri Lashomb and 10 interns. They again had a wonderful
experience treating all types of injuries from minor scapes to fractures and more significant
head trauma.
Rising Star Softball Showcase July 22-24, 2004
This is an biannual event that is always successful. Each year we see
more and more atheltes and injuries.
Disney 1/2 Ironman Triathlon May 22, 2004
This was amazing. We had a small showing for this one, but had a great time. We
stayed at Disney and did some fun stuff the day before. Sunday morning was a beautiful day in
paradise, we provided care to athletes on course, which amazing to see the diversity of skill.
I look forward to this again in 2005.

This was a great time had by all, we treated many injuries as these athletes raced through the downtown
streets of Venice Florida.
Rising Star Softball Showcase October 24-26, 2003
We had a great turn out for this tournament from our doctors
We also had the pleasure of help from Dr. Sherri Lashomb and 11 interns from New York
Chiropractic College. These students learn a great deal from our doctors and I think we learn
a lot from them too! Spencer Baron and Pat Helma seemed to have a great time, just ask them!
Palm Beach County Sports Institue Sports Festival July 18-20
The PBCSC held their annual Sports Festival which brought over 3500 local children
to the South Florida Fairgrounds to learn and participate in 15 different sports.
Junior Girls Softball Worldcup, July 8-13,2003
The FCA-SC through FISC, was in charge of all sports medicine needs for
this international tournament.
Dr. Valli Gambina was Chef De Mission. We had over 40 international teams play
for the World Championship title in the 16&under age group.
The T-Birds from Lilburn, Georgia overcame an early 2-0 deficit to post
a 3-2 victory over Chinese Taipai.
Team FLA from Palm Harbor, Florida placed third, while Philippines were the fourth placed team.
Sunshine State Games June 2003

The FCA-SC was responsilbe for providing care to the Baseball and Softball Venues
during the recent Sunshine StateGames. We have been asked to participate again next year!
